Growing up, there was always something special about waking up on a Saturday morning, meandering downstairs and turning on the TV set to tune in to your favorite cartoons. If you grew up in the 80s, then this weekly routine was all the more special, as this was arguably the golden age of cartoons.

Yes, before Netflix, On Demand programming, DVRs, high-definition televisions and voice-activated remotes, 80s kids enjoyed the likes of He-Man, G.I. Joe, Garfield, Inspector Gadget, Transformers, Captain Planet, ThunderCats and so much more. If you grew up in the 80s, you practiced karate with the “heroes in a half shell,” web-slinged with Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, rocked out with Jem and the Holograms, put on your proton pack with the Ghostbusters and joked around with the Smurfs. The 80s also marked the beginnings of the longest-running American sitcom featuring that dysfunctional family from Springfield – a toon that continues to air today.

Yes, there was nothing quite like the 80s when it came to cartoons, and it’s always fun to think back to those simpler childhood days when the only problems kids had were hoping the VCR would work to record their favorite shows while they were at soccer practice. Ah yes, times were good – even if you did have to get up and actually change the channel from the TV set knob.

So how well do you remember the cartoons you grew up with in the 80s? Do you know He-Man from the ThunderCats? What about Voltron from Robotech? My Little Pony from the Care Bears? Or maybe you consider yourself an expert? Step up to the plate now and challenge your friends to see who’s the true champion of 80s cartoon trivia. Just click on the link here to get started!
