Every generation feels like the TV shows they watched during their good old days were the best because their favorite actors, actresses, and characters featured in them. If you lived during the 90s, you know this period had the greatest impact on Hollywood, including pop culture.

Television grew rapidly. In fact, any millennial who lived in that period will tell you that they grew in front of the television. There was an explosion of TV shows with high ratings. Family-friendly Sitcoms like Family Matters, Full House, Seinfeld, Roseanne, and Friends were the most popular TV shows because the majority of the viewers were interested in laugh-out-loud moments. While comedy was big in the 90s, procedural dramas were also popular, which is why TV shows, such as NYPD Blue, Jag, and The Practice became synonymous with large audiences.

It’s also worth noting that almost all of the most popular 90s TV shows were long-running shows. For example, Will and Grace, which debuted in 1998, ran for 8 years. ER began in 1994 and ran for 15 seasons.

The 90s also witnessed the growth of the reality show genre. This growth was driven by the high ratings and massive success of the Real World, which aired on MTV. Another TV genre that made waves in the 90s is children programming, thanks to hit TV shows, such as Dinosaurs and Boy Meets World. While film actors are highly regarded, it’s exciting to see how leading actors and actress today got their debuts on TV. Some of these top actors and actresses were so young when they made their debuts on TV in the 90s. However, it helped them get a massive fan base and some leveraged their likeability to propel their acting careers. While some of the actors and actresses have been able to shed their 90s characters and remain relevant today, others are still stuck in their 90s characters.

While some millennials may not be aware of the 90s TV shows or characters, most, who sat in front of the TV, will find this trivia quiz a walk in the park. Regardless of the number of TV shows you watched in the 90s, could you match these 90s characters to their TV show? It’s time to test your skills!
