Ever caught in a moment of nostalgia when you see an object that reminds you of a fun memory? Reminiscing about the past is not always a sad thing, most of the time, it brings us to our carefree childhood!

The fifties was referred to as the “boom” era. It gave us the post-war vibes where people were just starting to recover on anything. After two decades of economic depression, people started moving to the suburbs to start again. This period introduced us to the booming economy and the booming suburbs. As people started creating small communities, suburban life came to exist. Malls were built, drive-in restaurants became popular, diners opened up 24 hours. It was during this period when women stayed at home and took care of the kids while the man works 24/7 to bring food to the table. Numerous remarkable things were developed, from fashion, house designs, and even concepts of starting anew from the decade spent dreading because of the war. The 1950s also gave us the the “Golden Age of TV” brought by the invention of the first colored TV that could compete with motion pictures.

Similar to the 50s, the 60s was the dawn of a golden age for most Americans. Charismatic John F. Kennedy was elected as the President on January 20, 1961. The inventions of the 1960s mainly included the music industry. It was during this period when cassette tapes came to exist and we were all listening to our favorite track while walking at home. But the most noticeable part of this period was that it ended when the Vietnam war started picking up its pace. Telephones in different styles and colors became an important communication line. From playing hula hoops and Mr. Potato head, the 1960s also paved the way to kitchenwares that became a housewife’s luxury set.

If we talk about luxury, the era to be called should be the 1970s. This period came with so many changes that all American households must adapt to. They brought in changes to our ordinary devices just like how Kodak manufactured the different style of camera that is mostly vintage now in the market.

Remembering all these things in the past is very important to how our futures are shaped. Whether you were 9 years old or 15 years old during these times, I bet you can recall these periods by just remembering the things I am about to show you.
