Before the internet, we used to stick around the house in front of the television to laugh, cry, be scared, be amazed, be inspired, be motivated, or for the most part, watch our favorite characters bring the story of your life on the screen! The 1950s was considered the Golden Age of Television because of the discovery of colored TV. By the end of the decade, many households started acquiring their own set for entertainment purposes. As the decade closes, the rise of western cowboy-type movies also made its way to the TV screen with the most popular shows like Rawhide and Lone Ranger. Nevertheless, this era surely was the pioneer for the future of our television industry.

Unlike the 1950s, the next decade started off with science fiction and fantasy theme. This was the era where supernatural theme were commonly discussed and shown on television. Among the most popular shows of the 60s were those of Star Trek, Bewitched, and The Addams Family. Later on in the decade, country-themed and military-inspired TV shows also paved their way to the television screen.

Then came the groovy era of the 1970s which gave us our favorite sitcoms and period dramas to date!
